Who we are

We’re here for the relationship, not the transaction.  And that makes all the difference.

Kortech is a minority-owned small business connecting talented people to large companies and government agencies for project and construction management, facility support services, and onsite contract staffing.

That’s what we do. Who are we?

We’re a company who believes everyone matters. We believe caring is contagious. When you genuinely connect with people’s heads, hearts, and hopes — people feel valued. That means they can bring their whole selves to work: the power of their full effort, energy, and enthusiasm.

We put that power to work for our partners, which translates directly to their daily results and the bottom line. How do we know? We’ve been in business for 50 years — we use that experience to focus on what works and continue to improve.

Mission

We spread happiness by making people feel valued, because we believe caring is contagious.

Vision

To make happiness at work an expectation.

our beliefs

  • People over profits. Caring over costs.

  • Caring is contagious.

  • Everyone matters.

  • People who feel valued bring more value to their work.

  • To win in the marketplace you have to win in the workplace.

my story

Conrad Nguyen

Conrad Nguyen

If you were to look at my previous jobs and degrees, you would think – well, that’s pretty standard for a CEO. But if you go back farther, you’d find an immigrant family escaping persecution to flee to the U.S. And then, instead of a magical rise to the top, you’d see poverty, violence, addiction and a downward spiral that ended in a tragedy — a tragedy that lit a fire in me to change my future.

That fire propelled me to Minnesota, to a high school diploma, a college degree from the Carlson School of Management, and an MBA from Rutgers. All from someone who couldn’t even read in elementary school.

That same desire for a better future led me to leadership roles, growing revenue for companies ranging from start-ups to a multi-billion-dollar global market leader. But, no matter how important the role or how big the company, I wanted to own my own. And that led me here, to Kortech.

Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a support system to start or buy a company. I want to thank my family, my friends, and my mentor, Tom Handley. Tom was my first formal mentor. We met by serving on the same board, when he was President & COO of Ecolab. Even though he’s moved across the country (he now supports the investment operations of BMGI as COO), he continues to listen, to offer advice, to be a sounding board for me.

It’s that kind of behavior – putting people first, truly listening, valuing each person for what they are and can be, that I want to perpetuate at Kortech. I’m confident Kortech can make a difference: for companies, for people, for the community. If we care about each other, and put that priority first, we become the change that lifts everyone up.
